Don passed away from a heart attack on June 19, 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 69.

Don Tatro you were an inspiration to us all in the Digital Art Community. Truly missed by all who knew you and your artwork. I am proud and honored that I am able to keep part of your work available as I am sure you would have wanted. God Bless you for the laughter, the generosity you bestowed upon us all those years.

I knew Don for several years thru the Bryce forum. Always found him to be a kind and patient man, and so full of humor. There were so many times that seeing his artwork and his posts would brighten my day. Don was the best medicine for life. Creepy Clown will always be a classic. Miss ya Don.

Hey, just wanted to share my thoughts for your page on Don Tatro. His work got me into art six years ago. Now I'm studying to go into film. I used to check to see Don's posts every day on Renderosity, and when I found out he died I felt like I'd lost a close friend. God bless you for the tribute, thanks for bringing back the memory of Don's wacky, wonderful genius.
